He graduated in Medicine from the University of Ioannina with honors in 2006. He holds a PhD in Medicine from the University of Ioannina and the University of Utrecht, the Netherlands. He specialized in Urology at the General Hospital “G. Chatzikosta” in Ioannina. He completed a one-year fellowship at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he specialized in Urological Oncology, Laparoscopic, and Robotic Surgery. This center is the largest Oncology Hospital in the Netherlands. He served as a Registrar in the Urology Clinics of the General Hospital “G. Chatzikosta” in Ioannina and the University General Hospital of Heraklion for 4 years.

He is a member of the European Board of Urology (Fellow of the European Board of Urology) and several international medical societies. He has a strong scientific presence as a speaker in Greece and abroad and has been honored with 7 awards. He has authored 63 articles in international journals (with over 1200 citations), 3 chapters in international books, and serves as a reviewer for 15 international journals, including European Urology, which is the urological journal with the highest impact factor (IF) worldwide.

He has been proposed by the Hellenic Urological Society as Greece’s candidate for the Crystal Matula Award 2018, and he received the Young Urologist Excellence Award 2016 from IMOP. He is a member of three working groups of the European Association of Urology, specifically in the prostate cancer guidelines (EAU Guidelines Office-Prostate Cancer Panel), the examination committee for certification of European Urologists (FEBU Examination Committee), and the group of European Academic Urologists (Young Academic Urologists-Robotic Working Group). His main field of expertise is Urological Oncology.
